I do think that giving scenes time to germinate then grow inside your head before you try to set them down in words is a great strategy. I often visualize characters and dialog at different times, then when it comes time to be at my desk, the words flow much more easily. Of course, I should never drive while gestation is occurring; I'm as dangerous as a texter behind the wheel.
